How in the world did I miss this site? Thank goodness it exists. I'm obsessive about names, always have been since poring over the list in the back of the dictionary when I was 10. 

No children to name, but lots of characters in stories. Examples from a story set in 1965:

• Grandmother Mattie Ada
• Parents Joe and Maribeth (nee Mary Elizabeth); Earl and Phyllis; June (nee Junie Mae) and Frank; Edna; and Great-aunts Opal and Dorcas "Dory"
• Children Larry, Joann, Kenneth; Susan, Steven "Buster," Patti

I used the late lamented Name Voyager to find decade-appropriate names for all of them. I am certainly glad to find a new improved tool for doing this kind of research.
